As a stained glass artist, I am grateful for the post-modern movement, which has freed designers, and their clients to enjoy built-in ornament again. Artisans are exploring new forms, often blurring the line between craft and art. Glass manufacturers too are meeting the challenge with materials of exquisite beauty.
Of course, there are also practical and budgetary concerns involved in commissioned art work, and glass has its own dictates as well. Within these parameters, I find in this art an invigorating balance of discipline and freedom.
Churches and public buildings are ideal settings for stained glass on a grand scale. But there is hardly a home or office that would not benefit from the glee of a stained glass gem, there to surprise, and elicit a smile of pleasure.
I invite you to share my vision.
